Hello, and welcome.
Well done for taking the scary first step towards seeking more support. I know finding the right therapist can be overwhelming.
I’m Bex (she/they). I’m a professional, accredited counsellor. Therapy with me is down-to-earth. It’s you and me chatting over a cuppa.
I’m committed to anti-racist practice and recognise the impact of systemic oppression. I believe survivors. I’m also neuro-queer.
I often work with trauma recovery. Trauma can be big or small, long-term or a one-off event. Trauma means “too much, too fast, too soon, or not enough” (Britt Frank). It can leave an imprint on your nervous system. In therapy, we can work with this imprint to come back to a place of safety.
Maybe you’re struggling to be present. Or you fall into unwanted patterns and accidentally get in your own way. Maybe you struggle to show up for yourself. I’m guessing you’ve read books, listened to podcasts, and tried healing practices, but there’s still a quiet, lost feeling that remains.
Whatever brings you here, if you want to feel more at home in yourself and rebuild your self-worth, you’re in the right place.
Therapy with me is a supportive, sacred space to focus on you, outside of the rest of your busy life. You can slow down, be truly heard without judgement, and reconnect with who you really are. Our relationship is at the heart. Radical honesty is encouraged, and all of you is welcome.
I have lots of experience working with all kinds of mental health issues in different settings, including charities and the NHS. This means I am used to working with complexity and a mix of presenting issues.
I weave many threads into my work, including:
Meeting and befriending your inner child
Parts (or subpersonalities) work
Noticing how your body is feeling and learning to build more internal safety via your nervous system
Working with your unconscious (as in, discovering what’s going on underneath your mind’s conscious narrative) using creative tools like drawing, meditation, and the imagination
And more. We’ll see what works for you and go at your pace.
Therapy is a journey and a commitment. You can start to feel more grounded, safer in your body, and have a deeper sense of wholeness.
Do you ever wonder what’s “wrong” or “different” about you?
Spoiler alert:
There’s nothing wrong with you.
Even if your mind says you “should be fine”, but your body disagrees. Or a past therapist didn’t get you.
With the right support, you can feel more fully alive.
You can start building the life you want to be living.
